Police capture minister, 5 others over supposed kid robbery in Akwa Ibom

The Police Command in Akwa Ibom, says it has captured Mrs Mmayen Odiuotip, 39, and a minister of Land of Testimony Ministry over supposed youngster robbery.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nnudam Fredrick unveiled this in an announcement in Uyo on Saturday, NAN reports.

He said different suspects in the supposed wrongdoing were Esther Esin, female, 41 years of Eyo Abasi, Oron Local Government, Mrs Rose Asuquo, female, 32 years, of Mbak Atai, Itu L.G.A, and Ubong Akpan, male, 42 years, of Mbak Atai, Itu L.G.A.

Others are Mr Samuel Idobo, male, 40 years, of Ikot Asukpong, Ibiono Ibom L.G.A and Mrs Eno Peter, female, 40 years, of Ikot Andem Itam, Itu L.G.A.

“The immovable endeavors of the order toward annihilation of youngster burglary paid off as the order captured infamous individuals in the state,” Fredrick said.

He further clarified that the suspects were captured following a solid knowledge in June.

He said the top dog of the organization, Rose Ekpenyong, female, purportedly schemed with the previously mentioned suspects and sold a taken child young lady in 2018.

As per him, the minister had admitted to the offense, guaranteeing that the infant was purchased for her sister Esin.

“Thus, the agents got the ball rolling and caught her while the infant was protected,” he included.

He additionally encouraged individuals from people in general to give valuable data that would assist the order with apprehending different culprits of kid robbery.
